Miscellaneous Consular Services

Applicants who wish to avail the following services from the Embassy of India, Tel Aviv may submit their applications at the Embassy counter directly on any working day (Monday to Friday except designated holidays) between 0900 to 1300 hrs with prior appointment. The timing for collection of documents is 1600 to 1730 hrs.

General Information / Instructions

  • Applicant should be a resident within the consular jurisdiction of Embassy of India, Israel
  • Documents, which are issued in India, submitted for attestation (marriage / birth / death / educational certificate / driving licence etc) must be first apostilled by MEA as per the details at https://www.mea.gov.in/apostille.htm.
  • All original documents are to be shown for verification and need not to be submitted.
  • Documents, which are issued in Israel, which are submitted for attestation - Birth/marriage/death / divorce must be first apostilled by Israeli MFA and other documents must be first attested by Notary Public in Israel.
  • Documents, which are issued in foreign countries (other than India/Israel) must be first authenticated by the Indian Mission in that country or Mission of that country in Israel.
  • Delivery of processed documents is to be done preferably to the applicant or to the person authorized by the applicant on presentation of - Authorization letter (sample form-Authority) (e-form. Maybe filled on computer only. Handwritten forms would not be accepted), Official receipt given to the applicant at the time of submission of application and Israeli ID / Passport of authorized person.
  • For attestation of Power of Attorney, Executant and two witnesses have to be present in person along with copy of their passports and Israeli ID.
  • Normal duration for grant of above services is two working days.
  • For attestation of Power of Attorney (POA) of foreign passport holders, POA has to be notarized by a notary public in Israel. A clear photograph affixed on the POA also must be notarized. A second photograph (same as on the original POA) to be pasted on the photocopy of the notarized POA.
  • As address proof, following documents (not older than 3 months) shall be submitted -
  • Utility bill (water or gas or electricity or phone or internet)
  • Bank statement
  • Credit card bill
  • Tax papers of Israel
  • Lease Agreement
  • Company Documents must be first attested by Notary Public in Israel.
  • Prior appointment needs to be taken at https://portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html before submission of the same at the Embassy.

A. Attestation of Power of Attorney/ Will/ Probate

Documents required

  1. Original and photocopy of Power of Attorney/Will/Probate to be attested
  2. Original and photocopy of the first, last, and valid visa page of the Indian passport for Indian applicants. Original and photocopy of the Israeli identity card for Israeli applicants.
  3. Embassy of India, Tel Aviv is not authorized to verify signature of foreign nationals (other than Indian national). So, Israeli nationals need to submit the documents, attested by a Public Notary.
  4. Two recent and clear passport photos
  5. Executant has to sign the POA in presence of Embassy staff.

B. Attestation of Company / Trade documents / Commercial Documents

Documents required

  1. Application on letterhead (along with Stamp) of the company mentioning the requirement and the list of documents to be attested
  2. Original and photocopy of the commercial document attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Israel or apostilled.
  3. Original and photocopy of the Israeli identity card
  4. The document should be signed by the applicant in front of the officer attesting the document and originals shall be returned.

C. Signature / Photocopy Attestation

Documents required

Original and photocopy of the document that needs to be attested (original shall be returned).

Original and photocopy of first, last, and valid visa page of the Indian passport.

D. Attestation of Indian documents

Documents required

  1. Original and photocopy of the Indian document that needs to be attested. If the original cannot be produced, then a photocopy of the document, attested by a Public Notary shall please be produced in lieu of the original.
  2. Original and photocopy of first, last, and valid visa page of the Indian passport.

E. Attestation of Salary Certificate

Documents required

  1. Bank statement to prove the amount of salary received if the entire salary is directly credited to the bank.
  2. If a part of the salary is received in cash, then a letter from the employment agency, on their letter head stating the salary drawn and attested by a Notary Public.
  3. Photocopy of first, last and valid visa page of the Indian passport and original passport for verification.

F. Life Certificate to Pensioners

A certificate stating that the applicant is alive on the date of issue of the certificate shall be issued to pensioners drawing their pension in India. This a free service which could be availed, upon the submission of the following at the Embassy :

Documents required

  1. Covering letter, explaining clearly the details of the pension account and the need for a life certificate.
  2. Original and photocopy of the Israeli identity card/Passport.
  3. The applicant should physically present oneself in front of the officer who shall be issuing the Life Certificate.

G. Birth/Death Registration

Documents related to the death of an Indian national in Israel, shall reach the Embassy directly, through the Israeli authorities and all the related documents shall be sent along with the mortal remains, to India.

For registering the birth of a child to Indian parents, the following needs to be submitted in the Embassy:

Documents required

  1. Original and photocopy of the Birth certificate of the child issued by the Ministry of Interior, Israel.
  2. Original and photocopy of the first, last and valid visa page of the passport of both, father and mother.
  3. In case of divorce of parents of the child, the Court Custody papers, attested by the Public Notary.
  4. If marriage certificate is not available, join affidavit from biological parents, attested by a Public Notary.
  5. In case of a single parent, declaration of the parent shall be attested by a Public Notary.

H. Marriage Registration

If either/both the bride or the bridegroom, intending to get married is/are an Indian national(s), the marriage could be registered in the Indian Embassy subject to the fulfillment of the following:

Documents required

  1. Production of original newspaper advertisement of the declaration of the marriage in an Israeli newspaper, local newspaper of permanent residence of both the bride and the groom. If either the bride or the groom is not an Indian national, then an advertisement in the local newspaper of the country of permanent residence of the non-Indian shall also be produced.
  2. Original and photocopy of the valid visa page and personal particulars page of the passports of the bride and the groom.
  3. Original and photocopy of valid visa page and personal particulars page of four witnesses.

I. Issue of Police Clearance Certificate

Category 1 : Issue of Police Clearance Certificate for Indian passport holder based on Police verification report in India

Documents required

  1. Applicants are required to apply for the same at https://portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html and submit a printout of the duly filled application form
  2. Documents supporting requirement for Police Clearance Certificate
  3. Photocopy of valid Israeli visa of the applicant
  4. Photocopy of the Passport of the applicant
  5. Original of valid Israeli visa and passport of the applicant to be shown
  6. Three passport photographs of 5 X 5 cms

Note: PCC will be issued only after receipt of fresh police verification from the relevant police authorities in India which may take time. Applicants are advised to apply for PCC well in advance.

Category 2 - Issue of Police Clearance Certificate for foreign passport holders based on Police verification report in India

Documents required

  1. Application stating the requirement for Police Clearance Certificate along with supporting document.
  2. Photocopy of valid Israeli visa of the applicant
  3. Photocopy of the Passport of the applicant
  4. Original valid Israeli visa and passport of the applicant to be shown

J. Transportation of Mortal remains to India

Documents required

  1. Application (mentioning contact details, email ID and address) by either close relatives or friends
  2. Photocopy of Passport, Death Certificate of Israeli Authorities, Embalming certificate, Certificate for dispatch of mortal remains from Israel.
