Visa services of the Embassy of India in Israel are being extended only at the Embassy premises w.e.f. May 2020. All applicants who wish to apply for Indian Visa are advised to submit their online filled visa application forms at :

Information for Visa applicants

  1. Online application for regular / paper visa can be filled at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/ . Applicant has to use "Internet Explorer" or "Google Chrome" for accessing this website to fill the online application form.

  1. Passports along with the print-out of Visa Application forms have to be submitted at Embassy of India, 140 Hayarkon Street, Tel Aviv by taking prior appointment at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in

  1. Biometric enrollment is mandatory for processing ALL VISA Cases for more than 1 year duration. Applicant is requested to visit the Embassy with prior appointment, for the same.

  1. For longer duration visa, please contact the Embassy at cons2.telaviv@mea.gov.in before application.

  1. Visa fee is accepted only in cash and is not refundable. Visa fee varies according to nationality of the applicant. Applicants may contact the visa officer at cons2.telaviv@mea.gov.in for more information.

  1. Validity of visa (e.g. 6 months, 1 year) begins from the date of issue and not from the date of travel.

  1. All foreigners who intend to stay in India for more than 180 days continuously should register themselves with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in India.

  1. Tourist Visa cannot be extended under any circumstances. Other categories of Visa holders seeking extension are advised to apply well in advance before the expiry of the visa at the FRRO.

  1. Change of visa category is not permitted after reaching India.

  1. Passport should have at least 2 blank pages.

  1. Passport should be valid for more than 6 months.

  1. Visa Fee is accepted only in Cash (NIS Only).

Important Notice:

  1. Satellite phones : As per the existing guidelines of MHA, carrying satellite phones by foreigners into India is banned. All are requested to note this and not carry satellite phones while visiting India.

  1. Wildlife : The Indian Wildlife Protection Act bans all forms of wildlife trade. Violations of the provisions of the act are punishable with heavy fines and imprisonment. Travelers are, therefore, advised not to buy any wildlife or wildlife products or derivatives especially ivory articles, fur and skin articles derived from wild animals such as Shahtoosh.

  1. Drugs : Buying, sales or use psycho-tropic drugs or any narcotic substances while in India is a cognizable offence puni`shable by imprisonment.

Visa Types, Duration, Supporting Documents and Fees:

TOURIST VISA

Tourist Visa is issued to a person to visit India for sight-seeing, recreation, casual visit to meet friends/relatives and not for any other purpose/activity like business, participation in sport tournaments, employment, joining yoga courses, conference, journalism etc.

Tourist Visa allows a maximum stay of 90 days at a stretch from the date of arrival in India on a single visit. Tourist Visa is non-extendable, non-convertible and there should be a gap of 2 months between two successive visits to India for the nationals of Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, foreigners of Pakistani origin and Stateless persons.

All persons of Indian origin and their minor children are advised to apply for "Entry" visa as far as possible as it is extendable in India and allows uninterrupted stay for longer periods.

NOTE: All persons travelling to India on board a Cruise are advised to obtain "Tourist Visa" in advance.

BUSINESS VISA

Business visas are normally issued to those applicants who intend to go to India for genuine business purposes. A letter each from the local employer and the sponsoring company in India stating the purpose of visit; places & organizations to be visited; and duration of visit are required to be submitted along with the Visa application. Invitation letter should contain the full name, address, telephone number, mobile number and e-mail ID of the authorized signatory. Copy of Israeli Business registration is also required to be enclosed.

Documents to be submitted along with Visa application form

1. One printed copy of the online visa application form with a recent photograph (2" x2" - White background and as per PHOTO SPECIFICATIONS and duly signed on both pages.

2. Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity.

3. Copy of profile page of passport. If applicant holds dual nationality, copy of profile page of both passports.

4. Copy of Israeli National ID.

5. Recommendation Letter from the Israeli company clearly mentioning the profile of the company and complete details of the profile & passport of the applicant. It should mention exact purpose of visit(s)and dates/ durations of the same.

6. Business card/Name card of the applicant.

7. Invitation letter from Indian company stating purpose of visit (s), duration of visit.

8.  In case of long term Business Visa for more than one year, applicants should submit the proof of their assured financial standing ie., three years financial statements / IT Returns / Balance Sheet etc., in respect of their business.

9.  A copy of the Israeli Business Registration certificate (B.R. copy).

EMPLOYMENT VISA

Employment visa is issued to highly skilled and qualified professionals, who are taking up assignment / employment with companies registered in India. An authenticated copy of the Employment contract and proof of registration of the employing organization are to be furnished. Employment visa is granted initially for a period of six months or for the duration of the employment contract. Further extension, if necessary, may be granted by the relevant Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in India.

Those going for volunteer work should also apply for Employment visa.

STUDENT AND RESEARCH VISA

Student Visa is issued for pursuing regular and full time academic studies in India. No other activities like business, employment, etc., are permitted. It is normally issued for the duration of the course of study. The applicant should submit proof of admission to a recognized educational institution in India along with documents certifying recognition of the Educational institution in India by concerned Government agency.

Foreigners who intend to study yoga should apply for Student Visa. The Yoga institution should be recognized by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, for admitting foreign students.

  1. Approval from Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India stating that the institution is recognized for admitting foreign students for study of yoga, vedic culture/Indian system of dance/music.

  1. No objection Certificate from Ministry of Health, Govt. of India in case of admission to medical or para-medical course.

  1. Details of the proposed research and financial arrangements for research including local costs, in case of Research Visa.

Conference Visa is issued for the duration of the conference to those who are going to India for attending an international conference/seminar/workshop etc. A copy of the letter of invitation from the organizer is required along with a letter from the local participant / employer to establish credentials of the applicant.

Prior Clearance from Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India would be required for foreigners participating in conferences/seminars/workshops etc, if they are from Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, foreigners of Pakistani origin and Stateless persons.

JOURNALIST VISA, VISA FOR FILMING/PRODUCING DOCUMENTARIES IN INDIA

Journalist Visa is issued to professional journalists, photographers, film producers/directors (other than commercial films), a representative of radio or television organization, travel writers/photographers etc. travelling to India for work-related purposes. A correspondent, columnist, cartoonist, editor or professional journalist working for an association/company engaged in production or broadcast of audio news or audio visual news or current affairs programme through print media, electronic or any other form should apply for Journalist Visa for travel to India. Journalists visiting India for any other purpose like tourism should also apply for Journalist Visa.

FILM VISA

Film Producers and production companies from across the world are welcome to shoot their Feature Films, TV/Web shows and series & Reality TV/Web shows and series in India.

Film Facilitation Office (FFO) set up by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, acts as a single window clearance and facilitation point for producers and production companies with a view to assist them in getting requisite filming permissions. Filmmakers desirous of shooting in above categories in India, may apply online at the FFO website, www.ffo.gov.in

Documents to be submitted for Film Visa

  1. One printed copy of the online visa application form with a recent photograph (2" x2" - White background and as per PHOTO SPECIFICATIONS and duly signed on both pages.

  1. Original passport with at least two blank pages and minimum 6 months validity.

  1. Copy of profile page of passport. If applicant holds dual nationality, copy of profile page of both passports.

  1. Copy of Israeli National ID.

  1. Sponsorship letter from the film producer giving purpose and details of visit.

  1. A letter of invitation from an Indian company/sponsor (wherever applicable).

  1. Prior approval of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India for script and shooting is needed. Prior approval of Ministry of home, India will be needed if shooting is done in restricted area.

  1. A letter of intent from the film producer regarding the shooting of the film in India, mentioning the production schedule, or the dates of shooting, particulars of the cast and crew along with their designation, coming to India for the purpose of the shoot/production, chosen location, list of filming equipment that is being brought into the country and other relevant details that will help to evaluate the merit of case, must be submitted.

  1. Declaration in respect of engaging an Indian liaison officer

  1. Declaration to refrain from commenting on any issues relating to insurgency in the areas, participation in missionary activities, meeting banned outfits or overground/underground functionaries and strictly adhere to the norms and regulations of foreigner’s guidelines during their stay and visit only the permitted areas.

  1. Declaration not to shoot film beyond approved script/location and not to pubicise film content without the approval of Ministry of Broadcasting and Information or by any authorized entity.

  1. Film production house will take responsibility of the crew and cast coming for shooting to India.

  1. Visa application for recce only should clearly declare the activities precisely.

TRANSIT VISA

Transit visas are issued for transiting through India. It is valid for 15 days from the date of issue of the Visa. Applicant is permitted to stay for only 72 hrs in transit. Transit Visa must be obtained before departure. Transit Visas cannot be obtained from immigration counters at ports of entry in India. Evidence of confirmed onward travel to a destination outside India is required.

Passengers having a connecting flight for onward journey and who do not intend to leave the airport or pass through the Immigration do not need a Transit Visa.

ENTRY VISA FOR PERSONS OF INDIAN ORIGIN

Foreign nationals of Indian origin are eligible for Entry Visa, which may be granted for a period of six months to five years depending on the purpose and the status of the applicant. This type of Visa entitles the holder to a continuous stay in India up to six months on each visit and may allow a continuous stay beyond six months (180 days) provided the holder registers himself/herself with the nearest Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within two weeks of arrival in India

  1. Foreigners who never held Indian nationality (as also their parents/grandparents) who are married to Indian Nationals are required to submit a copy of Indian Passport of spouse along with a copy of marriage certificate.

ENTRY VISA FOR SPORTS PERSONS

All Sports persons going to India for participation in international sporting events are required to apply for Entry Visa. Visa will be issued for the duration of sporting event. Officials/coaches/trainers etc. accompanying the player contingents will need to apply for Business Visa. It may, however, be noted that a copy of the clearance granted by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports of Government of India for holding the International Event needs to be submitted with the Visa application.

Medical documents establishing the need for medical treatment in India along with the offer of treatment from a recognized medical institution in India are necessary to consider grant of Medical Visa. Proof of availability of sufficient funds for the duration of stay and the expenses for medical treatment in India should also be submitted with confirmed return tickets.
