72nd Independence Day of India
The Embassy celebrated the 72nd Independence Day of India at the Embassy Residence in Herzliya. Ambassador Pavan Kapoor hoisted the national flag, which was followed by the singing of the national anthem. The Ambassador then read out the President's message to the nation and addressed the gathering of around 250 persons, comprising members of the Indian-origin Jewish community in Israel, Indian students in Israel, and Indians nationals working in Israel. This was followed by a cultural programme and refreshments.
