Commemoration ceremony of Lt Gen Jack Farj Rafael Jacob, 30 April 2019

Ammunition Hill Memorial site in Jerusalem commemorates the memory of fallen soldiers in the 6 day war of 1967. The Wall of Honour at this site also commemorates Jews living in other countries, in whose defense they fought, as a befitting tribute to their acts of valour.

Today, Ambassador Pavan Kapoor attended the commemoration ceremony of Lieutenant General Jack Farj Rafael Jacob, who was amongst those instrumental in planning, execution and culmination of the Indo-Pak war of 1971 in the Eastern Front.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Kapoor spoke about the immense contribution made by Lt Gen Jacob not only in the realm of military matters, but also as a leading luminary of the Jewish Community of India. He ended his speech expressing hope that the ceremony of unveiling his wall plaque in the memory of this great man would usher greater bonds of friendship between the peoples of India and Israel.
