“Experiments with Truth”, Indian exhibition inspired by Mahatma Gandhi

The Jerusalem Biennale’s Indian exhibition titled “Experiments with Truth” curated by Gargi Seth based on famous Indian artists inspired by Mahatma Gandhi was inaugurated at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem on 11 October 2019. Mr Uttam Pacharne, Chairman of Lalit Kala Akademi, Mr Herzl Makov, President of the Menachem Begin Heritage Centre, Ms Muanpuii Saiawi, Counsellor (Culture) of the Indian Embassy, Ms Gargi Seth, Curator of the exhibition and Dr Ido Noy, Deputy Director of Jerusalem Biennale addressed the gathering on the occasion. A kathak performance by Morni Gertner held the audience spell bound.

2.The exhibition brings together a confluence of ideas and ideals with references to the global society; assertions of roots and hopes, inner journeys through the myriad hues of life - experiments with truth - of the most elemental nature; expressed through contemporary Indian art. The works depict man’s experiments with truth; and, in the larger context of the Biennale, his eternal striving for God. Participating artists include Satish Gujral, Anjolie Ela Menon, Asit Patnaik, Arpana Caur, Biman B Das, Rajendra Patil, Ravindra Salve, Rini Dhumal, Niren Sengupta, Siddharth, Seema Kohli, Ambalika Chitkara, Neeraj Gupta, Kota Neelima, Avijit Roy, Shruti Chandra, Vasundhara Tewari.

3.The exhibition continues till 28th November 2019 at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center, Jerusalem, Israel.
